Lumley Primary Federation

Welcome

Welcome to Lumley Primary Federation website. My name is Tracey Wilson and I am honoured to be the Executive Headteacher of the Lumley Primary Federation.  I am fortunate enough to have spent the majority of my career in Great Lumley, a village community that I am extremely passionate about.  I have been the substantive Headteacher of Lumley Infant and Nursery School since 2007 and became the Headteacher of Lumley Junior School too in 2020.

In September 2022, Lumley Infant and Nursery School and Lumley Junior School developed a formal partnership in the form of a Hard Federation.  In turn this means there is one shared Governing Body and an Executive Headteacher working across both schools.  Working together has enabled us to develop a seamless and progressive curriculum for pupils aged three to eleven years.

Set in beautiful grounds in the village of Great Lumley, we are two vibrant, friendly and caring schools with extensive sporting facilities and outdoor learning spaces.  Our schools are happy and safe places where pupils are inspired, encouraged and supported to achieve their goals.  We want every child to have a dream and aspirations for the future.  Our school values of DREAMS and ASPIRE guide our children’s thoughts and actions, and permeate all areas of school life.

Our philosophy is very simple, through creative, innovative and engaging activities, our children are inspired, enthused and motivated to learn and have lots and lots of fun along the way!  This is encapsulated in the Infant School motto, fun to teach and fun to learn.”

The standard of teaching and learning is extremely high and the behaviour of pupils is exemplary.  We are inclusive schools and pride ourselves in raising awareness of equalities and fundamental human rights, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.  Working in partnership with parents and carers we support, guide and nurture our young people to develop into caring, responsible and hardworking citizens.  This is encapsulated in the Junior School motto, enjoy and achieve together.

I hope you find our website informative.  Please don’t just take our word for it, come and visit us and see the range of exciting learning activities and high-quality learning environments both indoors and outdoors.

I look forward to welcoming you to our schools.

Tracey A. Wilson, Executive Headteacher
