COVID-19 Update

23rd March 2020

Dear parents and carers,

These are deeply upsetting times and a lot has changed since we closed the doors on Friday and re-opened for key worker families on Monday 23rd March.  The Government has raised the risk of Coronavirus to high and is considering enforcement measures to stop the spread of this hideous virus.

I URGE you to keep your children at home, this is far the safest place for them.  You must only send your child to school if this is absolutely necessary and you have exhausted all other avenues.  We need to limit the risk of cross infection and isolate ourselves from contracting others as much as we possibly can.  I am deeply concerned that we become transmitters of this virus.

Please follow the Government's advice:

  • If it is possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
  • Every child who can safely be cared for at home, should be.
  • Parents should do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus.  They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

We will be reviewing our childcare provision daily following updates from the Government and Department of Education.  Please find below essential information for keyworker families.  There is an essential keyworker childcare form that must be completed by all accessing the childcare provision.

May I take the opportunity to wish you and your family the very best during this difficult period.  Thank you once again for your continued support.
