This section of our website provides parents and carers with useful information if you are considering our school or have a child who is a pupil at our school.
Parking & Dropping Off
Delivering and collecting of children safely is a major priority to the school governors and we ask that parents, where possible, park away from the school. This is particularly important at the start and end of the school day when children may need to cross the roads. We also request that you park with consideration for our neighbours and the crossing patrol officer.
Paper Copies (or any other formats) of Documents
If you would like a paper copy (or any other format) of any of our documents on our website please speak to the school office, who will provide them to you free of charge. If you require further information on any of the items shown in this section, please contact the school and we will do our best to help.
Parentpay
Lumley Primary Federation are unable to accept cash payments. We operate an online payment system called Parentpay for all monetary transactions. Parents are issued with a login for each child to enable you to set up an online account as soon as your child starts with us. Any payments for lunches, trips etc is paid for using this system.
Punctuality & Attendance
Absence from school
It is essential for us to be informed of any form of absence including illness, hospital appointments, etc. This should be done by telephone on the first day of absence but must be supported by a letter on return to school. Please avoid arranging holidays in term time as this can be very disruptive to your child’s learning and could seriously affect their progress.
Lateness and Poor attendance
All children who arrive late must be accompanied by an adult to the school office and signed in. Any child arriving after 09.05am will be recorded as late. Please help your child to be punctual – it is important that children develop good routines as persistent lateness can affect a child’s education. When children are frequently late or where attendance is a concern, parents will be contacted by Mrs Hutley, Attendance Officer, in order to work in partnership to improve the situation. In some cases, it may be deemed necessary to refer the case to the Attendance Improvement Team.
Authorised / unauthorised absences
At Lumley Primary Federation, we aim for zero unauthorised absence and always expect an explanation for absences. Parents must request permission from the Head teacher for any time off during school time. If possible, please arrange medical appointments outside of school times. Holidays during term time can only be authorized in exceptional circumstances. A leave of absence request form is available from the school office.
Emergencies and Bad Weather
In the event of an emergency or school closure, (for example due to bad weather), parents will be informed via the Weduc communication app and our texting service T2P.
We have provided further information regarding our approach to School Holidays during term time.
Weduc
Once your child starts school, you will be issued with details to make an account with WEDUC. This is our Parent Communication app and you will be able to email your child’s class teacher and office staff. Teachers will also use Weduc to inform parents of upcoming, educational trips, class letters, homework and after school clubs etc.
If you need help setting up your account Parentpay or WEDUC accounts, please contact the school office.
