How we evaluate the effectiveness of SEN Provision

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of a child’s SEN provision, we work as a team to continuously ensure the provision has a positive impact on the outcomes for all of our children. We do this in a variety of ways, including:

  • Every day observations of children and formative school assessments.
  • Regular discussions between staff to discuss planning, progress and next steps
  • Termly SENCO/teacher meetings to review Support Plans
  • Termly review meetings with SENCO and parents to discuss Support Plans
  • Robust evaluation of policy and practice by SLT, SENCO and Governors
  • Book scrutinies by SLT, SENCO and subject leaders
  • SENCO/SLT/Governor monitoring
  • Learning walks
